Job Creation Efforts Places MyUS.com #1 for Highest Average Wage in Sarasota County

August 11, 2011. Sarasota, FL - MyUS.com, the leader in international package forwarding and shipping, has placed first in highest average wage among the Sarasota County companies that have been participating in the county’s job creation incentive program.  Currently on its 18th month, the program was designed to incentivize companies to create jobs for the community.  MyUS.com is happy to report that they have created 14 jobs giving the overall company average wage of $69,249, the highest to-date.  New positions were added to all facets of the company within the executive management, warehouse and logistics and customer service and personal shopping teams.  Plans continue for MyUS.com to create 100 jobs over the next five years, as promised.  

“This is a great program for Sarasota County and we’re happy to be an active participant in it,” says Eric Baird, CEO and Founder of MyUS.com.  “Having started MyUS.com here, it’s important for us to continue to cull experts in the community to add to our expanding team.  We have continued to grow steadily year-over-year and will need the right team in place to remain on that trend. Our plans to add 100 more employees over the next five years remains a tangible goal,” according to Mr. Baird.

Throughout the state of Florida there were over 700,000 jobs lost from 2006 to 2011 which has spawned various job creation incentive programs similar to Sarasota County’s.   Early figures indicate that over 130,000 jobs will be added to the Florida job market this year.  The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently showed Florida on the second largest “upswing” behind Texas.
