While the idea for MyUS.com came easy, establishing and growing the company to over 200,000 customers worldwide took a lot of hard work and ingenuity. Starting with just a fax machine and a vision in 1997, we’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings in a cramped 65-square-meter warehouse. With his father in the military, CEO and Founder Eric Baird grew up living all over the world and quickly understood the need his friends and family had for getting products easily from the USA. Whether it was just finding items that couldn’t be located in the country they lived or being able to find items cheaper in the USA, people needed to be able to shop whenever and wherever they wanted in the world.
In 1996, Eric asked his mom for a $30,000 loan and set out on his goal of selling USA addresses to Americans living overseas. While the American ex-pats found the service to be quite useful, it was actually international consumers that ended up using the service most. Helping these customers get everything from car parts for their American-made automobiles to helping families save money on items like apparel and electronics, MyUS.com became a huge success and quickly grew to become the largest package forwarding service in the world.
As technology changed and the internet became more widely used, the faxed orders that came into our small warehouse turned into online account management pages allowing the customer more shipping freedom than ever! MyUS.com continued to grow and now resides in a spacious 9,000-square-meter warehouse with state-of-the-art technology to ensure customers have a great USA shipping experience every time. It is our loyal customers that have helped make MyUS.com what we are today and we’ll continue to listen to their needs and adapt with the times.
