Most merchants accept the telephone number from your country.  This number is used so the merchant can contact you about your order.

If a merchant does not accept foreign telephone numbers, we provide a US telephone number for use by all our members.

Note: Calls to the above number will not be answered, but since it's a working number (it will ring), merchants should accept it as valid for placing orders.

In addition, you can obtain a free or low cost U.S. telephone number from www.skype.com, www.magicjack.com, or www.j2.com.  You can also obtain a telephone number from any other reputable service provider of your choice.
