Things You Need To Order This Prime Day

Prime Day, best described as Black Friday in July for Amazon Prime members, is eagerly anticipated by online shoppers across the globe. With huge markdowns across almost every category, there’s a good chance you’ll score a hot deal on Prime Day no matter what you're looking for.

So when is it happening? Although the official date for Prime Day 2018 hasn't been announced, it’s typically held mid-July. Last year, it ran for 30 hours over 10-11 July, and this year, it’s rumored to start on 17 July. This means you still have some time to get a Prime membership and cash in on incredible once-a-year deals. And as a MyUS member, you’ll not only avoid paying US sales tax on your Prime Day purchases, but you’ll also get fast, hassle-free shipping to your international address in as little as 2-4 days - fabulous!

While the 2018 Prime Day deals haven’t been released yet, looking at the hottest deals from last year are a great indication of what to expect, so let’s jump in and take a look at last year's best Prime day deals...

Amazon Echo

The 1st generation Echo was just $89.99 on Prime day 2017, a whopping $89 off the regular price. The new 2nd Generation Echo now retails at 100 US dollars, so we should see a nice price drop on Prime day! Check out the 2nd Generation Echo here

Echo Dot

On Prime day 2017, we saw the Echo Dot for $15 less than regular retail, coming in at just 35 US dollars. We expect to see the 2nd Generation Echo Dot get the same price reduction (or better!) for Prime day 2018. Get the Echo Dot here

Dash Buttons

Love the idea of Dash buttons, but have a hard time paying 5 US dollars for the convenience? Last year, many Dash buttons dropped to just $0.99 with $4.99 credit with first order you place, making it a lot easier to justify the purchase! View available Dash buttons and plan which ones you may want to buy here

Fire Tablets

Last year, the Fire 7 tablet was just $29.99 on Prime day, a drop of 20 US dollars, and the Fire HD 8 tablet had an even better discount at 30 US dollars off. This year, we expect to see similar discounts on both devices, so if a Fire tablet is on your wish list, Prime day should deliver you the best price of the year. Shop Fire tablets here.

Fire Kids Edition Tablets

Deals on Fire Kids Edition tablets were also available last year, with a discount of 30 US dollars on the Fire 7 Kids Edition tablet which is regularly $100, and a discount of 40 US dollars on the Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablet that has a regular retail of $129.99. Expect similar deals this year. Shop Fire Kids Edition tablets here

Kindle E-reader

Haven't jumped on the e-reader bandwagon yet? Prime day is the perfect time to try one out. The basic Kindle e-reader, regularly $79.99, was discounted last year to $49.99, a great deal for this handy little e-reader. Buy the Kindle e-reader here

Kindle Paperwhite

Ready to upgrade your e-reader? The Kindle Paperwhite, with a built-in light, Wi-Fi, and high-resolution display was just $89.99 last Prime day, $30 off the regular price of $119.99, making it the perfect time to upgrade. Shop the Kindle Paperwhite here

Instant Pot Pressure Cooker

The Instant Pot pressure cooker was a surprise hit on Prime day 2016 and was brought back in 2017, so we expect to see it again this year with a savings of at least 30%! Shop the Instant Pot 7-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker here

How Will I Know If It's Really a Great Deal?

While everyone prepares for deep discounts (and there's no doubt that you'll find great deals on Prime day), it's important to keep in mind that not every deal will be a good deal. Be prepared by making a list of items you'd like to buy, and researching them ahead of time so you know exactly what you want. And use a tool like CamelCamelCamel, a site that tracks the price history of many Amazon products. It can help you quickly weed out the fake deals from true price drops.

We love helping our members find fabulous new deals, but some of the products featured above could have purchase restrictions, or may not take every form of payment. Find more information by viewing merchant’s terms of sale, shipping guidelines and/or terms and conditions.
